The initial intention for this Newsnight sequence was to introduce a segment on how political candidates marketed themselves during the 2019 Conservative leadership race. The producer and I selected widely recognized staple foods, and I later modified their branding and applied it to 3D models of packaging. While the tone was intended to be light and slightly tongue-in-cheek, the news agenda ultimately shifted, resulting in the segment being dropped from that Newsnight episode.
